Terms

Terms of use

These terms govern the use of buildtestlab.com and the measurements published on it. Last updated: October 21, 2026.

1. Who operates this site

Build Test Lab is an independently operated publication that tests software. It is not affiliated with, owned by, or employed by any vendor whose product appears here. Contact:[email protected].

2. What the measurements are

Each result describes one run, on one date, against one fixed brief. The brief and the criteria are published before the run. A result is a snapshot of observable behaviour, not a statement about a product's quality in general, its roadmap, or its suitability for your project.

Tools change. Where a result is out of date, the date on the page is the authoritative context, and re-runs are recorded in the changelog rather than silently overwriting the old result.

3. No warranty, no professional advice

The site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. To the extent permitted by law, no warranty is given that a result is accurate, complete or reproducible on your system. Nothing here is legal, financial, tax or professional advice.

4. Permitted use and quotation

You may read, link to and quote from this site, including figures and screenshots, provided that (a) the source is named as Build Test Lab, (b) a working link to the page you quoted is included, and (c) the quoted figure is not taken out of the context of its run.

You may not present our results as your own tests, use them to suggest an endorsement by us or by a vendor, mirror substantial parts of the site, or use automated means to republish content at scale.

5. Intellectual property

Text, layout, measurement data and screenshots produced by Build Test Lab are protected by copyright. Product names, logos and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used solely to identify the products tested. Their use does not imply any partnership.

6. Affiliate links and disclosure

Some outbound links are affiliate links. If you sign up through one, we may receive a commission at no extra cost to you. This is disclosed on every page containing such a link, in line with Section 5 of the FTC Act (15 U.S.C. § 45) and theFTC Endorsement Guides, 16 C.F.R. Part 255.

A commission does not change a pass/fail result, a measured time, a price, or the order of a measured ranking. Where an ordering is editorial rather than measured, it is labelled as such.

7. Corrections

If you believe a published result is wrong, write to the contact address with the page and the evidence. We re-run the test where the claim can be checked, and record the correction with its date. Corrections are not removed from the record.

8. Third-party sites

Links to vendor sites are provided for convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability, pricing or terms. Once you follow a link, the destination's own terms and privacy policy apply.

9. Privacy and cookies

Data handling is described in the privacy policy; cookie use is described in the cookie policy. Measurement cookies are set only after consent, consistent with Art. 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive andArt. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You may request access, correction or deletion of personal data under Art. 15–17 GDPR and, where applicable, under theCCPA/CPRA.

10. Copyright complaints

If you believe content on this site infringes your copyright, send a notice to the contact address including the work concerned, the URL, your contact details, and a statement of good faith. Notices are handled in the spirit of 17 U.S.C. § 512 (DMCA); we remove or amend content where a claim is substantiated.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Build Test Lab is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, nor for lost profits, lost data or business interruption arising from the use of this site or reliance on a published result. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for intent, gross negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law, and nothing affects statutory consumer rights.

12. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated when the site changes. The date at the top of this page reflects the current version; continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.

13. Severability and applicable law

If a provision of these terms is invalid, the remaining provisions stay in force. These terms are governed by the laws of Malta, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules in your country of residence.
